BrewCoach Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sorin Studio collects, uses, stores, and shares information in connection with BrewCoach and related support services.
BrewCoach is a coffee brewing guide with local brew logs, preferences, notifications, and optional lifetime premium access. Some information stays on your device; some information is processed by Apple, RevenueCat, or Sorin Studio when needed for purchases, membership status, support, legal compliance, security, and app operations.
Information We Collect or Process
- Account, sign-in, and membership information: if BrewCoach or a related Sorin Studio service offers sign-in, account recovery, or membership features, we may process your email address, user identifier, sign-in method, account status, premium entitlement, purchase status, and support history. We do not ask you to send passwords by email. Authentication credentials may be handled by Apple or another sign-in provider according to that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.
- Purchase and membership information: when you buy, restore, or manage lifetime premium access, Apple and RevenueCat may process product identifiers, transaction identifiers, receipts, purchase history, entitlement status, membership status, country or store region, currency, price, refund status, renewal or expiration information where applicable, and an app user identifier. RevenueCat may use an anonymous app user ID unless a user ID is later connected to an account or support request.
- Brew and preference data stored on your device: BrewCoach stores information such as onboarding status, selected language, unit system, premium-unlocked cache, last brew method, coffee dose, taste goal, and brew log entries. Brew log entries may include date and time, brew method, coffee grams, water grams, taste feedback, generated suggestion, and any optional note you type.
- Notifications and device features: if you allow notifications, BrewCoach schedules local brew step and finish reminders. Notification permission status is controlled by the operating system. The app may also use sound and haptic feedback during brewing.
- Support communications: if you email Sorin Studio, we collect the email address, message content, attachments, app name, device information, operating system version, purchase details, and any other information you choose to include so that we can respond and troubleshoot.
- App review and store services: if you rate or review the app, Apple may process your Apple ID, review content, device, and store-related information under Apple’s policies. Sorin Studio receives only the information Apple makes available to developers.
- Diagnostics and technical data: the app and third-party services may process technical information needed to operate the app, validate purchases, prevent fraud, diagnose issues, and maintain security. This may include app version, device type, operating system, locale, IP address, timestamps, SDK events, and error information.
How We Use Information
- We use information to provide and maintain BrewCoach; save your preferences and brew history; deliver brew reminders; process purchases and restore premium access; manage membership and entitlement status; provide support; respond to privacy, legal, and security requests; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with App Store rules and applicable law; and improve reliability and user experience.
- We do not sell your personal information. We do not use BrewCoach data for third-party advertising tracking. If this changes, we will update this policy and any required App Store privacy disclosures before using data in that way.
Local Storage and Sync
- Most brew content is stored locally on your device using app storage. Deleting the app may delete local brew logs and settings unless your device, Apple, or the operating system has backed them up. BrewCoach does not currently provide a separate cloud account for brew logs.
- Because local notes are typed by you, you should avoid entering sensitive personal information, medical information, financial information, passwords, or confidential third-party information in brew notes or support messages unless necessary.
Third-Party Service Providers
- Apple processes App Store purchases, payments, refunds, ratings, reviews, device-level permissions, and related store services. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
- RevenueCat provides purchase infrastructure, entitlement validation, receipt processing, and premium access status. RevenueCat may process purchase history and technical identifiers as our service provider for in-app purchases.
- Email and hosting providers may process support emails or hosted legal/support pages to deliver the support service and operate our business.
Legal Bases for Processing
- Where privacy laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we process personal data based on contract performance, legitimate interests, consent where required, and legal obligations. For example, purchase validation is needed to provide premium access; support emails are processed to respond to your request; notifications require your permission; and certain records may be kept to comply with tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal duties.
Retention
- Local brew logs and preferences remain on your device until you delete them, reset the app, or delete the app. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, legal, security, and business record purposes. Purchase and entitlement records may be retained by Apple, RevenueCat, and Sorin Studio as needed to provide purchases, restore access, prevent fraud, comply with law, and resolve disputes.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can delete local brew entries inside the app where deletion is available, change app permissions in your device settings, unsubscribe from optional communications if any are offered, and contact us to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection where applicable law grants those rights.
- To make a privacy request, email info@sorin.tech. We may need information to verify the request and locate relevant records, such as the app name, purchase identifier, or email address used for support.
International Transfers
- Sorin Studio, Apple, RevenueCat, and service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for cross-border transfers.
Children
- BrewCoach is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Security
- We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a revised date. Continued use of BrewCoach after an update means the updated policy applies to future use.
Contact
- Sorin Studio can be contacted at info@sorin.tech for privacy questions, data requests, support, and purchase-related issues.
